TEDでリスニングを鍛えるシリーズ 第2回目になります。
今回取り上げるのはサッカーチームのコーチを務めるジョーゼフ博士。
自信についてのスピーチです。
今回このスピーチを選んだ理由としては自分自身に自信が無いので、その自信を付けるためのヒントがあるかと思ったからです。

今回のスピーチはぶっちゃけ速いです。単語はそこまで難しくはないけど、結構苦戦しました。
シャドウイングするの難しいです。
ただいつも通り僕は行いました。
今回も4か所、よさげなポイントをピックアップしてシャドウイングを行いました。
まずは0.75倍速で英文を見ながらシャドウイング5回、通常の速度で英文を見ながらシャドウイングを5回行います。

(1) The problem with repetition is: how many of us bail after the first bit of failure?

ここで使われているbailと同じ意味合いの言葉が見つからなかったけど
「抜け出す、逃げ出す」の意味だと思います。
英英辞典だと次の意味があっているかと思います。
